Glencia Portos Sheriff and Lockup

The Sheriff's office and jail sits near the western entrance to the little town. It is hard to miss being solidly built of local fieldstone instead of the typical clapboard construction of the rest of the residences and businesses. The building has a prominent sign stating "Glenicia Portos Sheriff" as well as a collection of faded wanted posters nailed next to the door. The building is really a single room with the west side of the structure reinforced as a cell. A large, surprisingly fancy desk faces the front door. The desk actually was salvaged from discarded furniture left over from a wagon train. A sturdy Franklin stove and a rudimentary kitchen along with an again very nice single bed take up the rear of the main room.

Martin Baker the sheriff is an older man with a good deal of Native American blood running through his veins. He keeps a pair of fine horses in the barn and can often be found hunting and patrolling in the nearby countryside. He is unmarried and sleeps in the jailhouse. Martin takes most of his meals at the cantina and can always be found on Sunday eating Menudo at the Ramos boarding house. He is armed with a impressive bowie knife and a single action six shooter. A scattergun, a nine round repeating rifle and a couple of civil war era muzzle loading rifles are chained in a weapons rack at the back of the main room. Martin also keeps a derringer in his pocket at all times just in case.
