Glencia Portos
Tucked deep in a sun-baked gorge that protects it from the worst of the Sequoya weather, Glencia Portos is a growing settlement that serves as a lifeline for the small ranchers and farmers scattered across the surrounding area. With its cluster of twenty-odd buildings — including a cantina, boarding house, general store, blacksmith, cafĂ©, restaurant, and a mission church — it feels like a town on the rise, even if the dust still clings to its boots.
The regular arrival of the stagecoach connects the town's residents with the wider world, bringing letters, supplies, and the occasional stranger looking for opportunity — or trouble. Freight wagons grind in from Mad Mesa, hauling goods for Ortega's store and the Matador Cantina, while ranch hands drift in for a hot meal and a stronger drink.
Life here runs on simple rhythms. The clang of Mercer's hammer echoes down the street, and the smell of coffee and wood smoke lingers in the air. Children chase dogs through the dust, while old men trade stories on porches worn smooth by boots. Days pass slow but steady, and nobody expects more than another sunrise and enough coin to keep beans on the table.
