The Zaign Doctrine is a self published analytical work from Admiral Zaign, and is both a criticism of the current doctrine and strategy, and a proposal for a new form of thinking. Specifically, he calls the Death Star projects, forever considered as the crowning achievements of The Empire and First Order, as failures from their very conceptions. The destructive might of these weapons bring their own destruction, as it rouses people to the Rebel cause who would otherwise be Imperial supporters, or at least quiet dissidents. Had the Empire and the First Order taken utilized those resources and time towards the development of better conventional weaponry, the Rebel Alliance would have been crushed on the battlefield.

The Rebellion continues to fight an irregular war, as they always have, and such a weapon of conventional warfare like the Death Star no longer becomes useful. The Rebellion must be defeated by the men on the ground, finding them where they hide, cutting off their resources, alienating their allies, and showing them as the terrorists that they truly are.
