The Age of Empire is the name for the most recent completed period in Lokrenian history. The Age of Empire was proclaimed 212 years ago, after the Lokrenian army had conquered the modern provinces of Thesion, the Forest of Piges, Ormetland, and Chasadon from the Ardryn and (further west) Lantari forces. The new age brought the Age of Conquest to a close. The appearance of the Mists of Lokren and the resultant proclamation of the Age of Mists ended the Age of Empire throughout most of the empire, but the difficulty in promulgating this change means that some survivors of the Red Mist still wrongly believe that it is the 213th year of the Age of Empire.

Dates within the Age of Empire are denoted by the classfier AE after the number of the year. Thus, the current year in Lokren is sometimes erroneously referred to as 213 AE.
