Tech Moves
Omni-tools are multipurpose diagnostic and manufacturing tools as well as computers used for a variety of civilian and battlefield tasks, such as hacking, decryption, or repair. Higher-end omni-tools are equipped by Engineers, Sentinels, and Infiltrators to make use of their tech talents and powers. When activated, an omni-tool can appear over either of a person's forearms and/or hands, and occasionally both, as an orange hologram.
Tech Combat Powers
These combat powers are used as weapons for Seize by Force and Go Aggro, or they are options for Seize by Force.
Shield Boost: Add this as an option of Seize by Force. Restore the shields of a character within reach (including yourself).
Cryo Blast: Attack an enemy with a cryogenic beam (2 harm, close/far, ignores cover; unshielded enemies are impeded and allies gain +1 Forward against them)
Overload: Overload an enemy’s shields (disrupt 3, ignores cover, harms synthetics)
Incinerate: Attack an enemy with a beam of plasma (3 harm, 1-ap, close/far, ignores cover, unshielded enemies are impeded)
Sabotage:Overheat an enemy’s weapons (2 harm, close/far, enemy is impeded)
Decoy: Add this as an option of Seize by Force. Create a holographic image of yourself nearby to draw enemy fire. The decoy vanishes after taking Harm.
Tech Talent Moves
Cyberwarfare: At the beginning of each battle, roll +Sharp. On a 10+, hold 2. On a 7-9, hold 1. On a miss, hold 1, but something goes out of control. During the battle you can spend your hold 1 for 1:
- You briefly take control of a robot, defense turret, guided rocket, etc.
- You harden your shields (take -1 Harm while your shields are up)
- You counter an enemy’s cyberwarfare attack
Communications Specialist: When you go into battle, roll +Sharp. On a 10+, hold 3. On a 7-9, hold 2. On a miss, hold 1. During the battle you can spend your hold 1 for 1:
- You briefly take control of a robot, defense turret, guided rocket, etc.
- You call in air support, if any could possibly be available (4 harm, area)
- You jam, decipher, track or emulate an enemy’s communications
I’ve Got This: When you want to destroy, control, modify, fix or neutralize something technological (including medical and communication technology), spend 1 tech supply and roll +Sharp. On a hit, you do it if it’s possible. By default, it only works while you maintain it, it causes another problem when it works and you’re the only one who can use it. On a 10+, choose 2. On a 7-9, choose 1.
- It lasts for a while without maintenance
- It doesn’t cause another problem when it works
- Other people can use or maintain it
Energy Drain: When you target an enemy in battle who is either shielded or synthetic with Energy Drain roll+Sharp. On a 10+, choose two. on a 7-9, choose 1,
- Drain 2-shield
- inflict 2-harm to a synthetic opponent
- refresh your shields by 2
Sabotage: When you Sabotage a piece of technology being wielded against you in battle, Roll +Sharp. On a 10+, It breaks, does 1-harm to the wielder and is non-functional for the rest of the battle. On a 7-9, it's just broken and out of commission.
When you Sabotage a synthetic NPC in battle, roll +Sharp. On a 10+, hold 3, on a 7-9, hold 2. At any time, spend your hold 1 for 1 to:
- Make them fight on your behalf. If in battle, this lasts for 1 tick.
- Make them defend you. They take all harm from an attack meant for you.
- Make them die. They take 1 harm per hold spent (ap, ignore shields/barriers)
