The Province of Forilmandor, Sixth Age
With the rescue of the Urthe Mother from Her captivity and the return of the sun to the skies of the Urthe, the mists and darkness were banished and the Province was no longer Forlumbulendor, as the Drow named it, the Northern Land of Deepest Shadow. Now it is known as Forilmandor, the Northern Land of Glittering Light, though it is only truly in the ice wastes in the far, far north that the light truly glitters. Elsewhere the sun is a warming, comforting light above, though as the rains return and the rivers begin to flow clean once more, it is believed that they too will shine.
The sun's dawning indeed forced the Drow and their allies to seek sanctuary once more in the lands below, and now the People turn to the future, planting their crops as the dead forests regenerate with sun and rain to nourish them.
Yet to the south of the province lie stark reminders of what once was. Many of the Dead escaped their imprisonment in Tal'Baed'iear (City of the Dead by the Sea; 4A: Merton), yet many still remain within that city's ruined buildings and catacombs below, and none living dare go there. So too Tolmanustavor (Isle of Everlasting Fire), where once stood the proud city of Kalibar, still burns.
What has transpired further south, in the heartlands of the empire is as yet a mystery, as is the fate of the Daughters, mostly believed to have perished entirely. And the Lost Kin, exiled far to the east, are all but forgotten, few even consider how they have fared these last three centuries - whether they joined with the foe, or also suffered at the hands of the oppressors.. or if they have survived at all after the changes wrought by the hurt inflicted upon the Urthe.
But now the land is on the cusp, taking a breath after the long dark centuries of death and ruin, poised to spring forth once more with lush growth and verdant hues as the land recovers from its tribulations.
