Appearance
Halflings are short and slight, with dark eyes and brown hair, lacking beards or other facial hair. They favour practical, utilitarian dress.

Outlook - Fourth Age
For many Ages the slaves of the Dark Elves, thought lost by the other races, the Halflings' spirit endured, though they have been hardened by their centuries of servitude, no longer the carefree souls that once they were.

Outlook - Fifth Age (Dark Gods Ascendant)
Now the Dark Gods' servants have triumphed, their Halfling thralls are allowed a greater freedom, for all peoples are now theirs to command. Dismissed as a credible threat by their former masters, some now concern themselves only with their own comforts, whatever the cost to others, though others neither forgive nor forget the centuries of enslavement and look to the day when they may be avenged.

Outlook - Sixth Age (Aftermath)
Many Halflings have returned to their harsh servitude in the lands below, though for those who escaped that thraldom, the promise of the new world is wondrous indeed, and they have regained something of the light-heartedness and cheer they had lost, albeit tempered now by an iron resolve.

Game Notes
Halflings have all the Halfling racial traits from the Player's Handbook.
