Finally, because there has to be, at some point, someone who simply has the power to end discussions and conflicts, players do not have disputes with the GMs; our word will be the final word on any subject that does not involve a site admin or moderator. While we freely invite suggestion, constructive criticism, commentary, praise, queries, doubts, and opinions, once we have delivered a judgment on any given subject, we expect that subject to thereafter remain closed.
| Why We Remember Mourn Evenwood: |
| OOC player conflict does not occur often in Freehold, and we attribute this not only to the exceptionally close community we've built, but also to the administrative handling of disagreements and the occasional problematic player. There has only ever been one truly spectacular incident, perpetrated shortly after the game's original 2011 launch by an extremely contentious, rules-lawyering player under the alias of Mourn Evenwood (along with their partner, who played Miri Evenwood). Needless to say, the two were banned permanently from Freehold, but the character of Mourn survives to this day as an NPC. In honor of what remains a sort of gentle community joke, Mourn retains his unlikeable personality and attitude IC. |
