Description:This medium-sized structure is simple in design and function, with a front and back door, central common area, small kitchen, and private chambers on either side. While the floor is of hard-packed dirt, the walls are of adobe brick, supporting a sloping roof of kiln-baked clay tiles.

Constructed on 25 Nightal, 1373DR, by Nitis Nochan (with assistance from various others, including Evelina Evenwood, Joseph Loresong, Adoward Beastfriend, Jama, Mera, Rajaput, and Rondell Blimth), Freehold's "halfway house" acts as a sort of homeless shelter, albeit with more dignity than many would typically associate with the term. With the Homely Hearth packed to capacity due to the influx of travelers and rescuees who elected to stay and settle in Freehold, it was decided that some form of additional quarters was required to provide the village's surfeit of guests with a modicum of privacy and stability.

Originally intended to house approximately twelve residents—four of the five slaves freed primarily by the actions of Valentino Rizavi, along with eight people rescued from the Ghauwffhwa gnolls during a stealth mission to the fortress of Ghauwffhwar—that number quickly swelled and the structure was expanded, thanks to a large donation by the blind hin woman, Ruby, who, in Council on 30 Nightal, 1373DR, also volunteered to manage the motley tenants as a sort of unofficially-official housekeeper. Further improvements continued at the hands of Evelina Evenwood and Joseph Loresong, thanks to Lord Aram Lazard teaching them how to manufacture simple and effective tile roofing after Nitis Nochan departed to return to Hrrlak's iron mines.
