| Description: | Sharing space with the tavern next door, the village inn is a warm and welcoming space with friendly service and clean accommodations. Fine hin food is made in the inn's kitchens, and eaten in the taproom alongside the lobby. The stables across the way are large enough to house a carriage, not to mention several horses and the occasional axe beak. |

The only inn or stable in Freehold, the Homely Hearth is operated by its founder and owner,
Brandt Timmons, with the assistance of his maid, Marissa Brock, who were among the village's original settlers.
Located near the southeastern gate of the town center, the Homely Hearth boasts a relatively sizable stable and an excellent kitchen, with its rooms all on the upper street level. While cash is needed to import certain supplies from Assur or elsewhere, barter is often used to pay for lodging and board, so it is not uncommon to see guests helping to sweep the floors, empty chamberpots, wash dishes, or muck out the stalls.
Most of the ground level nearby is actually taken up by
Vio's, which is connected to the Homely Hearth lobby by a broad, tall archway; only the foyer and kitchens of the inn are on the first floor. The two businesses function in partnership, with the tavern next door essentially serving as a restaurant where the Homely Hearth's food can be ordered, served, and eaten.
Perhaps most novel among its features is the "take-away" window that opens onto the street near the gate from the inn's kitchens, where pedestrians can order food for pickup without actually checking into the inn or visiting the tavern.
