One of the characters belonged to a knightly order; the player was unjustly kicked out. The commander of the house was slipping mentally in old age, and this weakness was used by others to trick the character and the commander into the position that required the player to be kicked out, but the Gods made use of the old ones slipping mind, he neglected to strip the Player of the knighthood before kicking him out. Upon realizing this players character fled, taking a commission in a mercenary guild to avoid the possibility of the Knights House Going to the King to strip him of the remaining title. A light warhorse comes with the package.

Any reputable person holding an active march &/or reprisal letter may petition for this knightly rank, may not get it.
Civil;
This is any Gentle, they are born to this, others may be raised to this and Gentility for service
“Common” titles
Mayor; Elder elected, or appointed to position
Watch Warden; Elder elected, or appointed to position
Justice; Elder elected, or appointed to position, of settlements dusty-foot court; justice trial, jury trial, council trial.
Elder; member of settlement council elected, or appointed
Yeoman; an armed freeman, bears a minimum of a short axe [hawk].
Freeman; armed only with heavy walking stick, should carry eating knife.
Unfree Titles
Serf; bound to a Lord, must stay on land assigned
Bondman; bound to a freeman or greater, contract may be sold with agreement, may be beaten with strap, for disobedience, extension for escape.
Slave; bound to a Serf or greater, maybe sold, and may be beaten with rod, for disobedience, death or crippling for escape.
Thrall; bound to absolute obedience, death by any freeman at pleasure, but blood price to owner.
