Old Maritime Museum
In Game Description of the Old Maritime Museum
The museum is actually a complex, comprised of a large primary building and perhaps half a dozen small (house sized) structures, all of which are clustered around a man-made harbor. Being lower than the ground level, the harbor is impossible to see into from anywhere but right up close, so you can't tell if there are any boats present.
- The front of the complex is walled off, partially hidden behind a mound of rubble, packed earth, junk such as car doors and barrels, and even a bus tipped onto its side. Twisted coils of recycled concertina wire are strewn over the top and anchored to spiked posts. The height of the improvised wall varies, but isn't lower than 2m in any section. The museum driveway is blocked as well, with a large, wooden gate. Atop most of the buildings are sandbagged fighting positions at each corner.
- The west face of the complex is not walled off, though there's a single strand of concertina wire obstructing entry from that direction. A pile of debris nearby indicates that it's only a matter of time and effort before work there finishes the defenses.
- Rising up from the far side of the complex is a tall (radio?) transmission tower. The steel girders now support what appears to be a wind turbine and what might possibly be a sheltered lookout nest.
- Lastly, the complex is inhabited. The Mad Dogs appear to have arrived just in time to witness a changing of the guard. There are four men up on one the rooftops at the moment, though it's impossible to make out any details. They seem to be talking but any sound is lost across the distance and from the rain. Periodically, one of the men raises something to his face, such as binoculars or more likely a night vision device, and gives the surroundings a look. Moments later, two the figures go below. Elsewhere in the complex there a light on, either from a candle or lantern. A heavy sheet has been erected across the window to block out the light and it might work against the naked eye, but NVGs amplify light, and even the tiniest amount that slips past the curtain is easily noticed.
