Zukowo
In game description of Zukowo:
When the forest eventually opens up again, letting you emerge on the other side as though from a tunnel, the open terrain is reminiscent of the scarred landscape along the Vistula. Just short of Zukowo, this area appears to have once been a major fortified defense line, intent on protecting Gdansk's western approaches from the advancing NATO armies back in 1997. Layers of overgrown minefields, rows of rusty wire fences, and interlocking trench systems connected by collapsed and burned out bunkers, all go on for some distance. Even the battered road was once blocked up with obstacles or cratered by Pact engineers. Conveniently for the Mad Dogs though, the route has since been cleared and restored... back when the line broke and the defenders fell back to the port city's shrinking perimeter.

In the ruins of Zukowo the Mad Dogs pass what was once a school playground. Now overgrown with tall grass and weeds, six or seven American vehicles, including a pair of mighty Abrams tanks, are parked in amongst children's slides and swing sets. Though weather beaten, several yellow and black signs warning of radiation are posted around the abandoned vehicles. If they weren't hot, the mostly undamaged war machines would be a gold mine in spare parts. The nuclear ground zero, believed to be at or near the airport, can't be too far from here. Destroyed BMPs are also seen in and around Zukowo, but without the tools or the time to search for them, the Mad Dogs don't stop to cannibalize the carriers of their track segments. Besides, BMP wrecks aren't ever difficult to find anyways.

At Zukowo, the column turns onto Highway 7 and heads east. You don't pass within sight of the airport, but come close and near enough to take notice of widespread fire damage. Although grass and brush have sprouted back up over the years, even more so than might be expected, patches of charred trees linger as ugly reminders of how nuclear fire touched this part of the country.
