5th Ranger Group Personnel

These are some of the NPCs that were joined up with the Mad Dogs while they were working for the Markgraf in Silesia.

Lt Roman Wozniak
Background (Pol) - Polish 14th MRD (Infantry officer) / Army Silesia (GHQ)
Weapons - FAMAS rifle w/210rds, P-83 Pistol w/16x 9mmM, SmkGde x1
Equipment - Kevlar Vest (US), Steel Helmet (Pol), Webbing (Pol)
Language - Polish, Strong English
Special - R-158 Tactical Radio, AN/PRC-77 Manpack (coup link)
Status - OK
Lt Roman Wozniak, 24 years of age, is a former officer of the Polish 14th MRD, where he was first an aide-de-camp, then later an infantry platoon commander. His last assignment was a staff position at GHQ until volunteering for reassignment to the 5th Ranger Group. His uncle is 3rd Infantry Battalion's commanding officer. Wozniak speaks accented, but otherwise excellent English, and despite his age and lack of experience, he seems motivated, fit, and competent. He has the only radio issued to his half of the Rangers. Except for leadership and tactics, he has no specialty skills.

Sgt Leon Ostrowski
Background (Pol) - Polish 14th MRD (Infantry) / Army Silesia (Infantry)
Weapons - Vz.58 rifle w/210x 7.62mmS, Frag x1
Equipment - Steel Helmet (Pol), Webbing (Pol), Flak Vest M69 (US)
Language - Polish, Strong English
Special -
Status - OK
Sgt Leon Ostrowski, mid forties and socially mature, is the senior NCO of the group. An infantry soldier most of his adult life, he is physically strong and confident, but humble and pleasant to talk to. He has recently remarried, lives here in Raciborz where his wife runs an inn, and has authorization to live 'off base'. Leon speaks surprisingly strong English. His specialty is heavy weapons.

Sgt Gustaw Kolanko
Background (Pol) - Polish 14th MRD (Engineer) / Army Silesia (Infantry)
Weapons - Kbk wz.88 Tantal Rifle w/210x 5.45mmB, Frag x1
Equipment - Flak Vest (Sov), Webbing (Pol), Pack
Language - Polish, Moderate English
Special -
Status - Twisted Ankle
Sgt Gustaw Kolanko, early forties, is a career soldier like Ostrowski. After being in the 14th MRD's engineer regiment, he was promoted and reassigned to the 3rd Infantry Battalion shortly after the Army of Silesia was formed from the division. He lived Rybnik, east of Raciborz, before being reassigned to the Rangers... on next to no notice. Despite his abrupt transfer, Kolanko seems motivated. His English is fair, but more than sufficient. His specialty is demolitions and improvised anti-personnel devices.

Sgt Michal Sobczak
Background (Pol) - Polish 14th MRD (Infantry) / Army Silesia (Recce)
Weapons - Kbk wz.88 Tantal Rifle w/210x 5.45mmB, Frag x1
Equipment - Steel Helmet (Pol), Lifchik Harness (Sov), Pack
Language - Polish, Weak English
Special -
Status - OK
Sgt Michal Sobczak, late thirties, is the third NCO of the group. His English is the weakest and as a result, he seems hesitant to talk with the NATO contingent. A former laborer, Sobczak was conscripted early in the war and served as an infantryman in the 14th MRD, being wounded twice in combat, and having escaped once from captivity. His latest assignment was a patrol commander for the 4th Infantry Battalion's recce unit and has had his name in for transfer to the Ranger Group since he first heard of it's inception a few weeks ago. His specialty is navigation and patrol techniques.

Cpl Rokas Kallus
Background (Czech) - Czech 15th MRD (Armor) Deserter / Army Silesia (Infantry)

Equipment - Kevlar Vest (Sov), Webbing (US), Pack
Language - Czech, Moderate Polish, Moderate English
Special -
Status - OK
Cpl Rokas Kallus, early thirties, is the unit's sole Czechoslovakian. An admitted deserter from the Czech 15th Tank Division, he has been a member of the Army of Silesia for six months now with a clean record. Trilingual, Kallus is quiet and serious, uninterested in being social or "fucking around" as he calls it. He likely feels trapped in Silesia and alone, but his attitude probably isn't helping much.

Cpl  Radoslaw Krol
Background (Pol) - Polish 14th MRD (Signals) / Army Silesia (Infantry)
Weapons - Vz.48 SMG w/240x 9mmP, Frag x2
Equipment - Webbing (Pol), Pack
Language - Polish, Moderate English
Special -
Status - KIA
Cpl  Radoslaw Krol, twenties, is a former linesman in the Polish 14th MRD's signals regiment. He has since been transferred into the infantry where he has had a number of duties, from driver, storeman, to rifleman. A note in JJM's files given to him by Stranski, makes a brief mention of Krol's record of alcohol related AWOL offenses. He speaks adequate English and was reassigned to the Rangers by recommendation of his former CO.

Cpl David "Tosh" Lines
Background (UK) - 1st Armd Division (Infantry) / Pow / Army Silesia (Infantry)
Weapons - CZ-2000 LMG, M9 Pistol,

Weapons - M16A2 w/120rds, Frag x2
Equipment - Steel Helmet (Pol), Webbing (Pol), Pack
Language - Polish, Moderate English, Weak Czech
Special -
Status - Wounded
Pvt Maja Sawiki, twenties, is the only female Pole in the group. Conscripted into the Raciborz ORMO, she served in her Brigade's mortar platoon before it was amalgamated with the 14th MRD to form the Army of Silesia - being assigned to part of a machinegun crew. A native of Krzanowice, near the border, Sawiki speaks some Czech as well as English. She is a volunteer, has a pragmatic personality, and seems just as motivated and capable as her comrades.

Pvt Jozef "The Baker" Nowak
Background (Pol) - Civilian Baker / 156th ORMO Bde (Log) / Army Silesia (Infantry)
Weapons - AKM Rifle w/150x 7.62mmS, Frag x1
Equipment - Steel Helmet (Pol), Webbing (Pol), Kevlar Vest (Sov)
Language - Polish, Moderate English
Special -
Status - OK
Pvt Jozef "The Baker" Nowak, thirties, is from Gliwice, which is now a radioactive crater. Conscripted early in the war, he was sent to the Raciborz ORMO garrison as part of their logistics unit. Nowak spent six months in prison for stealing items from supply and selling it on the black market, then was reassigned to the infantry. Nowak seems a little "off" and the rest of the Poles seem to avoid getting him worked up.
"Why do they call you the baker?"
"Because I am a baker."
Despite his background and civilian trade, Nowak has apparently killed more people than anyone else in the unit. He speaks fair English and was transferred to the Rangers after repeated requests were denied.

Pvt Bratumil Zielinski
Background (Pol) - Polish 8th MRD (Artillery) Deserter / Army Silesia (Infantry)
Weapons - M16A2 w/120rds, Frag x2
Equipment - Webbing (Pol), Pack
Language - Polish
Special -
Status - OK
Pvt Bratumil Zielinski, early twenties, a former conscripted artilleryman from the Polish 8th MRD, he defected and left Krakow over a year ago. Seeking work, he was enlisted in the Army of Silesia. Zielinski is a volunteer and is expected to get married to a woman waiting for him in Rybnik, next year after he's saved up enough of his pay. He speaks no English whatsoever and has no real specialty, but appears friendly and motivated to be part of this new unit.

Pvt Milosz Nowak
Background (Pol) - Polish 14th MRD (Infantry) / Army Silesia (Infantry)
Weapons - Kbk wz.88 Tantal Rifle w/210x 5.45mmB, Frag x1
Equipment - Webbing (Pol), Pack
Language - Polish
Special -
Status - OK
Pvt Milosz Nowak, early twenties, is athletic, energetic, confident. A former conscript in an air defense unit during the first year of the war, he eventually ended up as an infantry replacement in the 14th MRD. Like Zielinski, he unfortunately speaks no English. He has no relation to the other Nowak, The Baker, and seems embarrassed at the thought of people making such a mistake. Nowak had absolutely no idea where he was going before this morning, but is thrilled at being transferred to the new unit.

Pvt Brad Mientkiewicz
Background (USA) - US 38th ID (Infantry) / PoW / Army Silesia (Infantry)
Weapons - H&K G-41 Rifle w/270x 5.56mmN, Smoke x1, Frag x1
Equipment - Flak Vest (US) Steel Helmet (US), Lifchik Harness (Sov), Pack
Language - English
Special -
Status - OK
Pvt Brad Mientkiewicz, early twenties, a draftee from Indiana, he fought with the 38th ID until he was captured during the offensive into western Czechoslovakia. Quiet and soft spoken, Mientkiewicz spent some time in a PoW camp and the mines before being released and given the opportunity to serve in the SFL. He has a relationship with a woman who does tailoring services for the barracks, but has not managed to get authorization to live "off base". Mientkiewicz speaks only English and apart from being a trained rifleman, he has no real specialty.
