Location:
Kaminski's compound is located in the Sienna Grobla Quarter of Gdansk, a underpopulated neighborhood east of the Old City urban core. The 1100 square meter, diamond shaped property, was formerly a rowing and athletics club which was abandoned sometime in 1997. It sits on the southern bank of the Motlawa River at the mouth of the Oplyw Canal. Direct access is via a 200m driveway that branches off from Siennicka Street.
Perimeter:
The grounds are enclosed by a 1.5m high wall on the two land based sides. Although the wall is concrete it's designed much like a fence, and latticed with evenly spaced slots approximately four inches wide by eighteen inches high. Undergrowth has started to reclaim the structure as if it was a trellis. The vegetation has made the lower section almost impenetrable to the naked eye. The lattices also make observation of what is beyond difficult, if not impossible, until you get close enough to peer through at a suitable angle. The two sides facing the water are open. The front gate is constructed primarily of metal bars approximately 2m in height. There is a secondary entrance located on a footpath at the northwest corner of the perimeter.
Twelve PMN-1 AP landmines have been laid at the secondary footpath entrance. The small minefield is inside the perimeter, but marked.
A four man slit trench has been excavated 10m behind the gate. The trench has clear LOS to the gate, and a very narrow LOS beyond it (restricted to the road which leads up to the compound). The north and west sections of the wall/inner perimeter are also covered. The trench has been revetted with sandbags and sheet metal to prevent collapse, but no other additions such as drainage sumps or overhead protection have been built.
An elevated sangar/watchtower has been erected directly behind the slit trench.

The Grounds:
There are three parking lots; one in the front situated between the main gate and the footpath entrance, the second in front of the garage workshop, and the third in the back of the compound facing the water. All of the parking areas are vulnerable to outside observation from at least one direction. There is a concrete dock for boats on the Martwa Wisla and wooden docks for smaller watercraft along the length of the canal section. Plans to cultivate and make use of some of the open space have been put on hold. Improvements include placing a commercial shipping container next to the garage/workshop and another in the third parking area. The latter also has a shed and tarp covered area, currently housing a 1000L trailer and fuel drums.
The Rowing Club:
The two story former rowing club is the largest building on site. There are several areas providing amenities such as, sleeping quarters, a kitchen and eating hall, offices, a common (recreation) room, a generator room, several secure storage rooms, a makeshift holding cell, and a small gymnasium. A small amount of electrical lighting is available in most areas. Heating on the other hand is limited to less than half of the building. Power comes from a 50kw wood-gas generator and a 5kw wind turbine. The kitchen utilizes solid fuel, wood mostly, for its two locally manufactured "Danziger-stoves". There is no functioning indoor plumbing, but a 1000L water storage tank (with tap) is on site. It is refilled by hand, with water drawn from the river.
The top floor is utilized exclusively by K. Kaminski and his associates. Most of the roof is flat, enabling access for sentries or the setting up elevated fighting positions. There is a rooftop deck/patio on the southeast corner overlooking the canal and extending out as a catwalk over the rear parking lot. Most of the glass windows are blown out, though they're boarded up or covered over by shutters now. A sandbagged lookout has been constructed on the roof, overlooking the river.
The Boathouse:
The former boathouse is a one level shelter, currently used as a two-vehicle bay garage and workshop. Although lacking a hoist, it is well equipped for tracked and wheeled vehicle repairs/modifications. There are no windows but some parts of the roof are missing, leaving the interior dank and gloomy, and usually cold. Lighting is not yet installed. It smells of oil, grease, and urine. Fuel wood is stored here as well.
