After losing the 1ton trailer containing the medium still to a driving mishap, the group deployed a thin defensive perimeter to protect the recovery group. During this time, fortified farmsteads previously bypassed apparently alerted local forces who dispatched mounted patrols to locate the group. As these small units were closing in they presumably were directing in a larger motorized reaction group. The party conducted a hasty ambush against both the rider screen and motorized reaction group. The enemy seemed to lack night vision except for their heavy support weapons. After a brief stand off engagement, the enemy was defeated by the used of overwhelming firepower, the advantage of firing from positions unknown to the enemy, and technical (observation) advantages. Not to mention several tactical errors made by the mounted screening force. Weapons of interest included one man-portable wire guided anti-tank system, and what is assumed to have been a ZU-23-2. Half of the enemy losses were credited to the sniper det of Weiss and Fox. The Bradley also played a significant role in neutralizing the motorized force.

Conclusion - The party conducted a successful withdraw and contact was broken with the routed enemy. The party's numbers actually increased as a result of this engagement with the addition of Tom Handley, who had been in the local area.
