Venus

The harsh planet isn't hospitable on the surface but contains many valuable resources and phenomena to be collected and studied. Many mining operations and research facilities orbit the deadly celestial body using aerostatic vessels and space elevators to transport materials and passengers.


CLOUD COLONIES
Because of all these operations, a floating colony was built out of multiple aerostatic vessels that use anchoring and tethering systems to navigate and control their movements in a safe distance above Venus' surface. The Cloud Colonies are made of 9 primary vessels, each the size of a small city and collectively making up the colonies. Each vessel is known as Cloud 1 to 9. Each cloud city also has several smaller aerostatic vessels that orbit them and serve as transports and extensions.
