GLAD TIDINGS FROM FORT GRIFFIN

Captain John Valby of the Fort assures the
Herald that cavalry patrols have
found nothing but good order on the roads
and that the natives of the Standing Bear
reservation have been placid.
Captain Valby, a native of Ohio, recently
assumed command of the Fort after the
transfer of its previous commander, Capt.
Justin Roberts. The Herald
welcomes him, on behalf of Promise City.
BOUNTY ON WOLVES

County Deputy Sheriff Colin Hunter has
announced that the County will extend
the bounty on wolves until the end of
February. A $5 bounty will be paid
for each pelt delivered to the Deputy
Sheriff's office until the end of
next month.
