Aspect
Millenia ago, a mortal slew Lugh "The Shining One", now known to a very few as "The Lost God" for neither His name nor the fact of His existence is widely known - the loss of Lugh hurt the Urthe Mother greatly, and all of creation mourned His passing, but gradually His memory faded.  The mortal who slew Lugh attained Godhood thereby, and became the Dark God Math Mathonwy.

Followers
The Guiding Lights of Lugh withered and died when their god was slain, and none now remain.

Dark Gods Ascendant
It was revealed that Lugh yet lived, trapped these long Ages, His powers stolen.  At the last, thanks to the efforts of a few brave mortals, His prison was discovered, His bonds broken and He was freed, though His powers are much reduced.
