Half-Elves share the physical characteristics of both their parents, approaching both Elven height and Human brawn:
Appearance
Half-Elves generally inherit the features of their Elven parent though are not quite so tall, and have a more solid build.
Outlook - Fourth Age
Half-Elves have the curiosity, inventiveness and ambition of their human ancestors, and the refined senses and love of nature of their elven ancestors. They mingle freely with both races, and make their homes in either human or elven communities, most often spending time with both, as they take great pride in their joint heritage.
Outlook - Fifth Age (Dark Gods Ascendant)
Distrusted and despised by their conquerors and those who support them for their mixed parentage, Half-Elves now find themselves allied with one race or the other, most commonly their Elven kin, but many also with the foe, for many count their parents amongst the Dark Elves or turncoat humans. But now there is so much distrust between those who once were friends that nowhere do they find welcome.
Game Notes
Half-Elves have all the Half-Elven racial traits from the Player's Handbook except as follows:
- low-light vision is 1½ times human norm (not twice)
- no racial bonus on Gather Information or Diplomacy checks
- 2 extra skill points at 1st level, and 1 extra skill point at every 2nd level thereafter (3rd, 5th, etc)
