Fourth Age - Old Urthe: Family Matters

The Guard purged of all Snakemen, Hamin's concerns for his family moved him to enlist Brislar's aid. An elaborate charade whereby Saffaris posed as a wounded Daughter bearing news of their long-lost son enabled his father, mother, brother, sister and nephew to be safely cleared, and a tearful reunion took place. Since the immediate family were found to be alive and well, Brislar, Corana and Calanor turned their attentions to the security of the city, while the party, assisted by Hamin's brother Hartock, checked upon the only remaining relative in Kalibar - their cousin Henman, as the rest of the family Carmine make preparations to relocate to the family holdings in Iskbridge to the north.

Attempting to entice Henman to the family Inn 'The Whistle', located in the fishing village outside the city, did naught but earn Hartock a beating, and upon his return with the assistance of Jenna, a half-elf and a friend of the family, it was determined that there was naught for it but to confront Henman.

Making their way to his mansion located in the south-east of the city, the party found no-one at home, and the house ransacked. The rattle of a key in the lock heralded the arrival of cousin Henman himself, claiming to be but recently returned to Kalibar, but the deception was soon pierced by Venelia, who also discovered that this Henman was in fact one of the Serpentmen and also learned, from their prisoner, a man named Gepol, of a trap that had been set for one Darud, who had escaped their clutches and who was now being lured to his doom in an ancient temple beneath the city. Disposing of the false Henman and two other Serpentmen in a desperate battle, the party resolved to rescue Darud in the hope that he would lead them to the real Henman.
