Dyavaen Ahnielios (Male, Grey Elf, Cleric)

Dyavaen is tall and slender, though only of average height for an Elf, and perhaps carrying a few pounds more than he should. He favours light clothing, plain linen shirt, leather breeches and jerkin and a dun leather cloak. Approaching his second century, his face does not wear the years well, and he's generally avoided physical exercise, but his fingers are deft, and his wit is keen. As he is fond of saying, his brother got all the looks, but he got the common sense.

His parents and sisters fell to one of the many dangers of this dark world, survived by Dyavaen and his brother, a talented minstrel who found patronage with a family of petty nobles and provided a relatively comfortable even prosperous existence. But the Elf despised this life and his brother's harsh and heartless patrons, devoting himself to helping those who suffered beneath the heavy hand of evil rule. Long a worshipper of Diancecht, his brother's compromises pushed him further and further away from his kin as he devoted himself to his god's service.

Deciding to abandon once and for all the life of privilege earned by his brother, Dyavaen headed north to aid those who fought not covertly but actively against the Dark God's rule. There, though danger was a constant companion, Dyavaen finally found peace with himself. Though sworn to minimise harm, he has killed in defence of his friends and his beliefs, but the good he has done far outweighs that. Joined by Lieseya after the slaying of his brother and other kin, Dyavaen accompanied his niece to the Daughters' Glade in Taurenbaraun where she gained Saffaris' staff. Moved both by his need to watch over Lieseya and by the task ahead of the party, he chose to accompany them on their quest, even after the loss of his niece in Tal'Baed'iear, the City of the Dead.

Dyavaen perished in flames in the gardens of Brother Inurien which had been wrested from the control of the Master of Time by the Seekers of the Dark God Math Mathonwy.
