The Eternal Flame

Belenus is the Eternal Flame who banishes darkness and brings heat and light into the world. He causes the Sun to provide the Urthe with warmth in the growing season to nurture the crops, and he shields the Urthe from the heat to allow a time of rest and recovery once the harvest is done and before the cycle begins anew. He gave the gift of fire to the People of the Urthe, but like many gifts, it must be used wisely ere it turns on its user, for fire can only be contained, not controlled.

Belenus' Lightbringers are the Guardians of the Sacred Flame of Life - they bring light and warmth to the world when all looks dark, and are fanatical in their devotion to the protection of the Urthe, due to their Intercedant's unique contribution to the cycle of the seasons. In them burns the fire that will never go out.
Dark Gods Ascendant
Belenus' light has been banished from the heavens by the perpetual darkness and clinging mists with which the Dark Gods have covered the Urthe, preventing Him from shining forth to warm the People, for it is His light that kindles hope within the hearts of the oppressed, and which Their creatures fear above all else.
