Many of the units that make up the Fighting Joes can trace their combat lineage back to the first war with the Federation of Magic in 11 P.A.  Oftentimes companies are named for famous battles, commanders, or locations with the Ruins of Old Chicago.  The companies of 2nd Battalion are all named for famous battles held during the first war with the Federation of Magic.
