Admiral's Pub
Admiral's was a pub back before the war changed the face of almost everything else in Gdansk. It was even called by the same name. The original owners were long gone, vanished in the avalanche of chaos that swept across Poland, but not a lot else was different. The nautical theme is as it had been, complete with nets and buoys hanging from the ceiling. Black and white photos of old Polish steamers line the walls. Near the entrance there is sign written in four languages barring long-arms and explosives from the premises, though nothing is said of pistols. Like most drinking dens trying to squeeze out a profit, the lighting is generally barely enough to get around. A fireplace that until recent times was more decorative than anything, can regularly be seen kicking out a modest amount of warmth for comfort, though its main purpose is probably for cooking in a large pot overhanging the fire. Admiral's is stuffy and stale, but it doesn't have that lingering odor of vomit or urine that so many other local pubs have.
