Mikoszewo

Territory Type:

Insular

Description:

Mikoszewo was a small community of just over 600 civilians located on the eastern bank of the Vistula. Heavily damaged, it no longer has a permanent population but is often passed through by travelers on their way to or from the Vistula Ferry. These visitors include trade caravans, seasonal workers during planting and harvesting times, salvage parties, and hunters making use of the coastal forest that's located to the immediate north. Patrols from the 12th Polish Calvary occasionally conduct anti-bandit sweeps here as well.

The ferry connection at Mikoszewo is simply where the main road juts out a few meters over the riverbank and then abruptly ends with a drop off. It is unmanned.

During the 1997 retreat, NATO forces abandoned a great deal of hardware during their hasty evacuation over to the western side of the Vistula. Scavengers have since stripped or otherwise hauled away anything of value however, thus salvage opportunities are limited.
