Description from in-game of the military installations

Next, the Mad Dogs returned to the main road and followed it to the southeast, bringing them closer to Hel. Periodically, a small path or access road would branch off and scouts would be sent to investigate. In most of these instances, the narrow side roads would lead to a military installation. The largest were a barracks for the local garrison, that being a stationary SA-2 SAM site. There was also a rifle range, munition bunkers, radio towers, and crumbling second world war gun emplacements. Many of the locations were destroyed. By noontime the Mad Dogs had closed to within 2-3km of Hel, noting the terrain started to rise here, while the forest grew thinner. Any future logging would be more ideally suited on the ground back the way you came.

Four options for camp locations were deemed feasible:
Listed in order from NW to SE

1) Northern Barracks
Easily the most visible target from the sky, this military complex is heavily damaged. Most of the dozen-plus buildings here are collapsed or burned out, but a few smaller ones remain in various states of decay. It sits right on the main road, so anyone passing through would likely notice that it's occupied. The shoreline is 700-900m away, but there is one good dirt road leading to it for ease of travel. There used to be a perimeter fence, judging by the posts, but the wire is all gone.

2) Naval Mine Depot
This facility was spared conventional aerial bombing, perhaps owing to the numerous magazines being spread out over a large area and being mostly underground. There are old warning markers for chemical weapon dispersal however. One administrative building remains and is in decent shape. Housing your entire expected workforce plus the security detail in it would be difficult. Sheltering the overflow in the magazines could resolve this, though the conditions would be crude. The depot is isolated, far from the main road so that it's hidden, but the lack of a trail or road continuing on to the beach would hamper movement significantly. Suspected (you aren't actually sure) human footprints were seen here, frozen in the mud.

3) Rifle Range / Southern Barracks
These barracks are in better shape than those in the north. Being one of the only open spaces around, the rifle range looks to have been used during the war to service helicopters. The remains of three Mi-2 choppers still linger, along with some empty fuel and maintenance trucks. This facility is furthest from the Gulf shoreline, but there is a continuous service road connecting the two. It would still make for a long walk however. Deer tracks were spotted here.

4) Gun Emplacements
These World War 2 positions lack the artillery that once guarded against naval attack. It's mostly just empty concrete emplacements and some crumbling magazines that were abandoned long before the present conflict. It is the closest to the Gulf shoreline, being essentially right next to the beach. The main road is out of sight, providing some isolation, but still only 250-300m away. Being this close to the water negates the need for any proper secondary access to the shoreline. The accommodations are the least favorable of all however.
