Harbor
Gdansk is Poland's principle port city yet nearly all of its harbor is situated along the banks of Motlawa River which cuts through the heart of the city. While the inland docks protect the fishing/trading fleet, they are easily trapped if the mouth the harbor freezes over during the winter (or if mined). Most of the shipyards and port facilities have been seriously damaged by conventional bombing and a tactical nuclear strike. One functioning collection of wharfs and warehouses are under the control of the Fisherman's League. While it is not a designated market zone, trade goods intended for import/export can be bartered for (usually in bulk only). Ship maintenance facilities and laborers also operate out of here in support of the vital fishing fleet. The harbor front is also one of the few places fuel can be purchased in large quantities.
