Situated east of Elblag is a nature preserve, and within that preserve lies a clearing, the chosen location of Fredyryk Burant's Home Army 5th Battalion. The partisans' camp resembles that of a cross between an early period hamlet and refugee camp. The settlement appears to have been built from scratch where there was once nothing but a clearing, hidden from the rest of the world by the sea of trees. The partisan's Volkswagen van is often located here, along with a derelict automobile and small farm tractor, and of course their horses. Men, women, and even a few children, are included in the partisan group's revenue, and can often be found here tending to a small number of livestock. There's not much room at all. Anyone who sees those living here would get an immediate sense that these are hard people. Like every Pole, they've been through a lot, but the ones here give the impression of having faced everything thrown at them and stood unwavering. In any case, the weak have probably been thinned out from their ranks long ago, though, that said, there are children here. In all, the hideout has an observable population of roughly twenty-five people, many of which are armed.
