Ageon
Born in the small elven community within the Gynarch of Hardby off the Woolly Bay, Ageon is well used to living in human dominated lands.  His parents were merchants who largely traded wine and other elven luxuries using their Olve contacts as far away as Celene or Highfolk & the Vesve Forest in their modest trading network.  Ageon's early life was one of relative comfort in the port town run by a succession of human female autocrats.

That came to end several human lifetimes ago when the Yellow Eye Plague swept the region, taking the lives of many and leaving chaos in its wake.  Both of Ageon's parents perished in the plague, riots, fire, and opportunists finished off the rest of what remained of Ageon's inheritance.  Given his youth and with no surviving family or friends to turn to, Ageon lived on the streets of Hardby.

He learned to survive and eventually thrive as the port town recovered from the dark times.  Ageon sharp elven eyes made him a useful lookout for certain endeavors and he earned his daily bread on Hardby docks making deliveries (of both legal and extralegal nature).  Eventually that turned into thuggery for hire and other services with the gang Ageon fell in with.

That chapter of Ageon's life closed when his gang decided that a small band of adventurer's that had taken up residence in Hardby (largely as a home base as they explored the Cairn hills, Abbor Alz, and the Bright Desert) should be taught a lesson after they refused to pay for protection.  Needless to say it ended badly for the gang and Ageon.

Perhaps it was the begging and promises of service that Ageon's life was spared.  Or some show of mercy that the young elf didn't fully comprehend.  But in any case that is how he found himself in the service to his master, the grey elven wizard Keldreth Scaramanthelon.

After decades of (mostly) loyal service to Keldreth (and his ever changing pantheon of adventuring comrades) as a torch bearer, gopher, drover, menial, and lab assistant, Ageon was caught by complete surprise when the wizard declared his punishment was complete and he was free to go on his way.  His (former) master even presented him with a standard book of spells 'suitable to his meager magical abilities'.  Ageon didn't question his new status and set off in the world to find his own destiny.

Astrid Starflower -
Astrid was born in the Welkwood forest in the Faerie Kingdom of Celene, along the Jewel River.  Her home was in an enclave of elves and she spent most of a century exploring the woods, swimming in the ponds and streams, wandering game trails, and learning how to find her way when lost.  She was always good at figuring which was was north, or back to home.  When hanging out at home she loved to play games of chance and skill and became very proficient with cards and dice and other such pursuits.

As time went by, Astrid grew somewhat bored of life in the small enclave and made some preliminary plans to leave and go exploring the wider world.  However, as with so many people, it never seemed to be just the right time and her plans and dreams languished in disuse.  Instead, she continued to play games and got good enough that wagering money became common.  She did very well and actually amassed a decent sum of money, certainly enough to allow her to travel the world.  One of the other elves, a rather large male by the name of Gandalorn, got tired of losing to Astrid and setup a game of cards.  By luck, skill, or trick, he managed to beat Astrid not only for all of the money she had collected but another 1000 gp to boot.  While Astrid is quite convinced that he cheated, a debt is a debt and she left her home in search of the adventure she had longed for and to earn the 1000 gp she owed to Gandalorn.

Over several months, Astrid found her way to Narwell.  Along the way, she polished her skills at legerdemain and collected enough money to acquire basic equipment, armor, and weapons.

Reahlyn
Reahlyn was born in Triton and raised as a farmer. Her mother passed when she was 5, and her father did hos best to raise her on his own.  The Dwarven smith, Aublyn, helped as much as he could, apparently seeing a resemblance to one of his kin in the child. He taught her Dwarven and Orcish and as she grew they would often share inside jokes. He also taught her how to fight, to protect herself from all the suitors he expected; except the local children her age tended to forget she was a girl.

The village was destroyed by bandits when Reahlyn had just turned 17. She and Aubryn were able to lead the village to a pyric victory. She took her share of the loot, and left Aublyn to guide the other survivors to civilization. In the following months she has given away most of what she had, and she has just realized she needs to find a way to "feed and cloth" herself now that she has done it for "the masses". Luckily, there's Narwell nearby to look for work.

Roburt Von Claire
Over his scale mail armor, he wears simple brown & russet garments (which he has made for himself & several other members of the Billets) and displays his holy symbol of St. Cuthbert's, crafted in oak.  His main weapon is a footman's flail which hangs from his belt and a quarterstaff which is attached to the outside of his backpack.  He also carries a small wooden shield in case there is trouble.  He often wears a wide brimmed hat with a simple symbol of a cudgel pinned to it (the hat & pin were gifts from his parents) over his dark brown hair and green eyes.

Roburt Von Claire is a human who was brought up in the faith of St. Cuthbert in the city of Greyhawk of whom his parents were very well known disciples of the religion.  From a young age he was groomed to be inducted into one of the three orders of the priesthood of the Lesser Deity.  Both of his parents belonged to the order of The Stars which they hoped he would follow in their paths.  They were a bit taken back but, not disappointed when he chose to follow the Billets.  He thought he would be more useful to St. Cuthbert to minister & protect the faithful of the church.  He is excited and eager to be off on his first assignment for the church which is to visit Narwell and seek out one of the clergy who has discovered what he thinks is a potential problem of a small cult of Iuz forming in the city.

Shadrach
Raised to have been an apprentice pig keeper, Shadrach manifested an otherworldly charisma in his early teens, leading to his having been rescued from this fate by the local order of Cuthbert where the brothers schooled him in the martial and divine arts. On his 19th birthday, they bid him travel to Narwell, dire omens and premonitions having directed their concerns there. These signs were not limited to the dreams of the monks of St. Cuthbert. Shadrach even heard from his own parents of the birth of a two-headed piglet that did not have the decency to die after its first breaths.

Llewen
Llewen grew up in the town of Willip, the only child of Lars (a master brewer) and Elowise, who doted over their boy. Llewen loved nothing more than watching his father work, and he longed for the day when he could become a brewmaster himself. Unfortunately, when Llewen was still a young child (age 11), both of his parents died from an illness that swept through the city following its annual Goose Fair, which brought in countless visitors each year from other towns, near and far.

With no surviving family, the orphaned child was sent to Greyhawk to be cared for by the clerics of St. Cuthbert, where he was raised in the faith by an elderly canon named Umberto, who treated him like a grandson. At the age of 18, Llewen embarked on a formal apprenticeship under Umberto's guidance. In addition to religious studies, weapons training, and the mystical powers of prayer, Llewen was educated in the botanical arts, which was the canon's true passion, as evidenced by his impressive (and locally renowned) herb garden.

After three years of diligence and hard work, Llewen was initiated into St. Cuthbert's Order of Billets. His first assignment as a new acolyte is to deliver a message from the High Priestess of Greyhawk, Eritai Kaan-Ipzirel, to Brother Severinus in Narwell.

Wilfred Wildemount

Wilfred was born to a shipwright family in the city of Greyhawk.  He learned the trade when he could lift a hammer, but it was never his passion.  He wanted nothing more than to play music and tell stories.  He would spend his free time wandering the woods and came upon a tree through which a deity spoke to him.  It called the tree the Great Ash.  He learned much at the tree and using this knowledge, as well as his carpentry skills, he was able to fashion a lute from a fallen branch from this tree.  As soon as he was able, he left his family behind and took up the path to becoming a bard.  He knew he could never go home, but the heart wants what the heart wants and the deity asked him to go to Narwell to seek work.

Sylarin Ravensmead
Sylarin was born and raised in Verbeeg Hill, a town nestled in a valley on the Velverdyva River in Highfolk.   His family was known in the area for their finely crafted arrows, and he was expected to take over the family business when he came of age.  He learned a lot about trading and business from his father and uncle, and would have likely been very successful running things himself.  However, he did not get along with his strict father and when he was old enough he struck out on his own.   At first he spent time travelling up and down the Velverdyva, and eventually met up with a mentor/father figure named Grimlock.  Grimlock was an ex-soldier and outdoorsman, and he taught Sylarin the ways of the forest.   For the last few years Sylarin has been living on his own in the Northern Dapplewood forest, hunting and helping the local militia keep order.   Recently, he's felt the need to explore other lands and his travels lead him down the rest of the river and south to Narwell.

Lazzoran
Born in a small farming and fishing community in Keoland, on the Sheldomar River two days journey by barge south of Niole Dra, Lazzoran has always been lazy. Too lazy to farm and only willing to catch enough fish to feed himself despite regularly applied scoldings and beatings. His family had little hope for him ever growing into a productive member of the community.
One day a Cleric of Sotillion named Gragast came through the village and saw in Lazzoran a kindred soul and took him along to Sotillion's temple in Niole Dra, where he trained to be a cleric.
In Niole Dra Lazzoran witnessed a wizard casting spells for the first time and seeing the flashier magic he really wanted to be a magic user instead of a cleric. His small farming community had no arcane spellcasters as they were mistrusted and even outlawed in the past.
Once he completed his training he sought out a wizard to train him in wizardly ways, but found none willing in Niole Dra to apprentice a lazy cleric. Deciding to look elsewhere he bought a cart and headed east into Urnst, hoping to find someone there to train him as he traveled along from community to community doing a little as possible to get by,  and eventually found himself in Narwell.

Anaras Kell
Anaras Kell was born in a small cottage on the Nesser River in the Celadon Forest located in the Barony of Woodwych.  On a dark stormy night, his small home was raided by orcs.  His parents were slain and he managed to escape purely by knowing the lay of the wood around him.  He knew every stream, rill, bank, and ridge in a five mile radius of the cottage.  With his home burned to the ground and with only the clothes he was wearing at the time, the young halfling made his way to the city of Nellix where he survived by learning skills of deception and sleight of hand in the streets while also working as a teamster. After many years in Nellix, the small thieves guild he was associated with fell into some trouble with a competitor guild.  His guild was overthrown in the ensuing guild war and Anaras had to find another home.  It was then he decided to seek out a purported uncle, a brother to his mother, in the city of Narwell in the Wild Plains.

Dabhaidh Donnachaidh
Dabhaidh was born in the village of Goldenbrooke; one of a number of scattered gnomish freeholdings in the central region of the Cairn Hills. His Clanhold, Donnachaidh, are well regarded for their skills in woodworking, with only a select few having developed skills in magic or even choosing to adventure. Dab developed an interest in religious observances; enjoying the gatherings and services, especially the illusionary images created for the services. Dab's faith and talent ensured a natural progression towards being a follower of Garl Glittergold, the patriarch of the gnomish pantheon, and the study of illusions. Dab's life choice and interest has been well received by his clan, and his parents (Fuerngal and Missiebach) are both very proud of his successful training. Already well past his 100th birthday, Dab has made the decision to embark on a quest of enlightenment. Pleasantly sheltered from worldly affairs, Dab seeks the necessary experience and knowledge, hoping to have greater involvement in the dedications of faith as a community elder. His destination was the Kron Hills and a location believed to be the origin of his ancestors before they moved and settled in the Cairns. Travelling west he stopped briefly in Greyhawk City, but after a couple of unfriendly encounters, he left and took a barge down the Selintan toward the Wild Coast. Disembarking before Hardy, he headed west toward Narwell with a plan to cross the northern Welkwood and onward into the Kron Hills.
