Verena is the goddess of wisdom and justice, and as a result is often worshipped by scholars and wizards. Large temples to Verena are connected to the Universities of Altdorf and Nuln. Her connection with justice means that she is also the patron of legalists, and lawyer's guilds' typically contain a shrine to Verena.

Her connection with justice means that she is popular among magistrates, administrators and officials, but political agitators and revolutionaries are also sometimes fond of invoking Verena's name. The rhetoric of justice can be wielded as a weapon against unjust and arbitrary rule as easily as it can be used in support of the existing legal order.

Verena is said to the be the wife of Mórr. While he governs the shadowy knowlwedge of the future based on dreams and portents, Verena governs the firm knowledge of the past and present based on reason and firm evidence.
