Manann is the god of the sea. In inland areas he is worshipped little, but along the coast shrines to Manann are much more common. Sailors are, of course, particularly keen to appease his wrath and, by tradition, anyone taking a sea voyage should first make an offering to Manann.

Manann is seen as a fickle and temperamental god, in line wiht the unpredictable nature of the elements, caring little for the ways of mortals. Manann's worshippers do not look upon their god affectionately, but as a force they need to placate. He is believed to be the offspring of Taal and Rhya.

Symbols

Manann's symbols are an abstract wave design and a five-pointed crown. His priests tend to wear robes of greenish-blue or blue-grey, often fringed with a wave pattern in white.

Strictures

Manann's priests do not have the kind of strictures common to other religions; just a lot of superstitions surrounding how to behave at sea and surrounding proper preparations before setting out on a cruise.
