Morrow Project Equipment
The greatest advantages the Project teams have are their training, dedication and equipment. Morrow teams are generously supplied with gear that is in excellent condition. Team members have the necessary expertise to keep their supplies in good order which takes 1-2 hours of maintenance each day. Their gear is also a great liability, especially when dealing with greedy unscrupulous types.
Basic Personal Load
The Morrow Project issues a basic set of personal equipment to all members, regardless of team or specialty. Starred items are described below.
Basic Gear
Gear found in the basic personal load.
Resistweave Coveralls
Covers Torso, Arms, Legs. Armor +2, Min Str d4, 1.7kg. Ignores 2 AP from bullets and keeps armor vs Flame Weapons.
Resistweave coveralls comprise the Morrow Project's standard uniform. The coveralls are made of an advanced ballistic cloth called resistweave. While not as effective as Kevlar, resistweave is much lighter, more flexible, and, most importantly to Project personnel in the field, breathes. The coveralls are water- and gas-resistant and flame retardant, and are issued with a zip-on hood for use in hazardous environments.
Resistweave coveralls are issued in khaki, olive drab, and grey, depending on the expected environment. They have multiple patch pockets - two on the chest, four on the hips (two front, two rear), and one on each thigh. Name tape is worn above the right chest pocket, with the Morrow Project patch on the right shoulder and division (Recon, MARS, Science, etc.) on the left, possibly along with a team patch.
AN/PRC-68 Radio
Effective Range: Up to 5km. Usually 300m with short antenna, 1.6km with long.
Battery Life: 36 hours.
A small VHF pocket communicator. This radio has a telescoping antenna, a built-in microphone, an earphone, and a lanyard for attaching it to an equipment belt. It also has a built-in voice scrambler which can be turned on or off and is automatically decoded by another Morrow Project radio. The unit can be used with the antenna collapsed or extended. With the antenna collapsed the unit will fit into a shirt pocket but the range is cut in half. The batteries are recharged by plugging them into a vehicular power system.
M1 CBR Kit
An air sampling detector set for chemical and biological agents as well as radiation. It will sound an alarm and identify any dangerous chemicals or biological agents in the area. It takes two combat turns to detect and identify a hazard. The device also acts as a dosimeter, keeping a record of the amount of radiation the person wearing it has been exposed to.
Kit, IV Therapy
Carried by all Project personnel to supplement the team medic’s loadout. The kit consists of an IV catheter, flow regulator, drop chamber and tubing needed to initiate an IV line. Additionally, each kit includes one of three sized bags of IV solution with an alcohol prep pad and a pair of non-sterile gloves taped to the bag. Note that the tape may be reused to secure the catheter after placement. [100ml - 0.115 kg, 500mL - 0.515 kg, 1000mL - 1.015 kg]
Kit, Needle Decompression (0.017kg)
For treatment of Tension Pneumothorax, features a 3.25” 14-gauge catheter in a plastic twist top protective tube. This is included in the Personal Medical Kit.
Pack, Combat Wound (0.001kg)
A foil blister pack containing one oral dose each of analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antibiotic. The entire contents of the package should be consumed as soon as possible after an injury in the field. This is included in the Personal Medical Kit.
Kit, Personal Medical (0.764kg)
A larger (5kg) version exists in satchel form, intended for use by medics or doctors.
