An ancient technology, widespread at one time. Modern-made locks are usually crude affairs, often made of iron or even wood.
Ancient locks were sophisticated technological puzzles far beyond the skills of most current locksmiths.
Locksmiths are commonly found in larger cities. Common locks are moderately expensive; good locks are prohibitive expensive.
