The Symbol of the Lokrenian People is the great bicameral assembly that governs the Lokrenian Empire in concert with the king.

The Symbol consists of the Thalaman (IPA: /ˈθæləmɪn/; the Upper House), which contains representatives of all major noble houses in the empire, and the Thalankat (IPA: /θəˈlæŋkət/, the Lower House), made up of tribunes from among the Lokrenian people.

The members of the two chambers are called Kyrins (IPA: /ˈkɪɹɪnz/) and Archids (IPA: /ˈaːkɪdz/) respectively. Each chamber is led by a single member, chosen by the members themselves for the office. The leader of the Thalaman is called the Gerouget, while that of the Thalankat is known as the Protarch. The Gerouget serves for five years, while the Protarch serves for only two. But unlike the Kyrins, an Archid can be re-elected as Protarch by his peers, whereas no former Gerouget can gain the title a second time.
