City Layout

The city of coin is a large city broken down into wards, where one ward starts and another one begins may not be too obvious at first, until you are well into the ward and then you will realise it. However, of course, to locals they are pretty aware of where one ward ends and another begins. The main wards of the city are:

The Port Ward
Coin is a port city, many fishermen and merchant ships dock here. The port district is not the wealthiest of districts and some parts of it have a very strong fishy smell. There are plenty of bars and inns and warehouses in this area. Those who live here tend not to be overly wealthy so the area is a little run down and poor.

The Market Ward
Coin has also many overland trade routes that pass through it. There is a large central market in the market ward, as well as some smaller more specialised market squares. Many traders, shops and craft people work and live in this area. It is a well patrolled and generally safe area, although be careful for pick pockets in the markets.

The Slums
Next to the Port District this area is run down and less patrolled by the watch. It is home to those without employment or who work for very little. In the interest of keeping the peace the city and some temples do sponsor soup kitchens, so that starving is rarely a problem. The area is home to many gang who fight to control parts of the ward. Its not the best place to be after dark, and some places you would want to be careful in during daylight hours.

The Residential District
The bulk of those in the city live here there is also a large garden called the Flower Park, as well as a large arena for games as well as gladiatorial fights. Many guilds also make this ward their home. Including the Fighters Guild and the Mages Guild.

The High Ward
Home to the wealthy and rich of the city, many merchant houses are here, the city Keep is here which is home to the City Watch. There is also a smaller Keep which is mainly used for administration of the city, and is where the City Mayor can be found.

The Temple Ward
This is one of the smaller wards of the city, home to many temples of all sorts of religions as well as home to the cities graveyard.

Outer Coin- Everything within two days walk from the cities walls is claimed as Outer Coin, there are a fair number of villagers here, the nearby areas is very fertile and this area is mainly filled with fields and farms of all sorts. There are plenty of inns and there are also several small forts that are home to Coins small but very well funded and equipped Army.
