Currency

Survival costs money. It's a sad and simple truth for humans. Changelings are unique in that so long as they have glamour (provided by a freehold, or by Dreamers,) theycan survive. Humans and kinain, however, require food which costs currency.

Each dot of resources sets a level of income that players gain, assumed to be either from working they do or a return of various investments. This game keeps tabs of that as Currency Units (labeled as c,) which is the amount of currency needed to feed 1 average human for a year. Currency not spent by the end of a Winter Phase rolls over to the next year. Currency, like holdings and freeholds are inherited upon the death of a character by their Heir.

Resource Levels

1  -  1c/year
2  -  5c/year
3  -  15c/year
4  -  30c/year
5  -  60c/year

Each member of a Player's household which isn't a Changeling will cost 1c/year to feed. The following Chart shows the various cost levels that can be set per household member.

Survival Levels

Thriving (x2c)   -  +2 survival rolls
Surving (Normal) -  no change
Malnourished (0) -  -2 survival rolls

Now, by this point you may be wondering, how do I get more currency? Luckily, various holdings in the mortal world can generate excess currency. These can either be built by spending excess currency,or gained through random events, or as dowries for marriage.

Prices listed are considered average, one may be able to gain more or less depending on economic factors of the world.

Another useful thing to note is that the more holdings a player has, the larger a territory they control, but this also adds more individuals to one's household in order to work farms or businesses (as individuals traveling to the Gathering of Nobles cannot be expected to work during the summers.)
