This is the Gazetteer detailing the locations on the main game map.

GAZETTEER OF PARISIAN LOCATIONS

This gazetteer details the numbered locations on the Paris Roleplay Map and Paris Roleplay View. The smaller maps detail the City’s Quartiers and surrounding Faubourgs together with the areas in which the various classes of housing can be found, The Paris Roleplay Map details the main routes (there are lots of side streets also) and building locations.

Most of the named locations are accurate (street and bridge names etc) whilst other sections (placement of fictitious clubs and government offices etc) are pure invention. I’m not aware of the Temple complex being used as an army barracks, for example, but it was confiscated by the Crown and would suit the purpose ideally. Similarly, all Quartiers except the Quartier des Celestines did actually exist, but whereas the Paris of 1610 had 16 Quartiers in number, I’ve taken a more manageable 11 and expanded these at the expense of the missing five.

The aim of this exercise is to provide a common framework for the purposes of adding 'chrome' to press releases etc.

The information in (brackets) after the building name details the Quartier (Q.) or Faubourg (F.) in which the building is found followed in some cases by the name of the street the building is on.

For ease of use, the buildings have been grouped by type / theme. This means that some buildings appear in the gazetteer more than once. La Tournelle, for example, appears three times, once as an ecclesiastical location, once under ‘The Military’, and finally under ‘Justice’
