List of Invented Spells



Below are a list of new spells that have already been described by players and vetted by SGs. They are not necessarily yet available to the Order of Hermes at large, and they may not have even been invented yet by a payer's character. They serve as examples and precedents.

Contubernium of Unseen Porters ReTe 25
R: Voice, D: Conc, T: Group
This spell moves up multiple objects in a manner similar to The Unseen Porter (ArM5, p. 156), with a total mass equal to ten times what one +5 strength person could carry (as a rough ballpark I'd estimate between 2000-2500 lbs.). In addition, the objects may travel in any direction, including unsupported ones.

Individuals can be given orders to follow. However, each individual porter is very simple minded. "Wait until this container is filled, then empty it over there," is about as complex a command as can be given. The Maga can concentrate to direct delicate movements, as in The Unseen Porter, but if multiple porters are involved, they must act in formation.
Adds a Group target (+2 Magnitudes), and +1 magnitude for traveling in unsupported directions.
Commands are simple, as in Awaken the Slumbering Corpse (ArM5, p. 134) so no Mentem requisite or complexity magnitude was added.

Bile for the Bilious Barbarian CrAq4
R: Touch, D: Concentration, T: Ind
Creates a small spot of +2 damaging acidic bile on the target's person. Uses Creeping Oil (ArM5 p. 121) as a model for creating substances on a targeted person.
Base 2 (General: create a corrosive substance doing +(Level) damage.) + 1 (Touch) + 1 (Concentration)

Recollection of Memories Quite Unlived MuMe4
R: Touch, D: Concentration, T: Ind.
As Recollection of Memories Never Quite Lived, except base 2 instead of 1, (allowing major details to be changed) Range Touch and Duration Concentration.
Base 2 (Make a major change to a person's memory of an event), Touch, +1, Conc. +1

Bookworms of the Mind PeMe 4
R: Touch, D: Momentary, T: Ind.
Removes a single moment of a memory from the target, amounting to two sentences spoken by one person, or 6 seconds of time. The caster must have been present or had a detailed, accurate description of the event to be able to precisely target it. As it is only the fragment of a moment, unless it is completely disconnected to surrounding memories, the first time the target tries to recall the moment, they may accurately reconstruct it with an Intelligence stress roll of 9+.

Breath of the Desert CrTe 4
R: Touch, D: Concentration, T: Individual
In a sudden rush, a hundred cubic paces of sand emit from the target's pores, like a fountain of dry sweat. Disconcerting and impeding outdoors, it is potentially deadly indoors. Uses Creeping Oil (ArM5 p. 121) as a model for creating substances on a targeted person.
Base 1 (Create sand, dirt, mud or clay), Touch +1, Conc. +1, Size +1
(This spell is likely to be at least hampering, or even dangerous, to the casting maga as well. This depends on its adjudicated reaction to Parma Magica.)

Pushed Towards the Edge ReCo4
R: Touch, D: Momentary, T: Individual
The target is slowly dragged 3 paces in one direction and then pushed over. If already braced, or if there is something to grab on to, the target can resist with Strength stress roll of 7+. A Quickness roll of 8+ allows the target to catch on something before falling over.
Base 3 (Move a target slowly in one direction, as long as the surface can support its weight), Touch +1

Solidifying the Demanding Spell ReVi Gen
R: Touch, D: Sun, T: Ind
As Maintaining the Demanding Spell (ArM5, p. 162) but Sun duration. It will thus affect spells equal or lower than one magnitude less than the level of this spell.

Sustaining the Demanding Spell ReVi Gen
R: Touch, D: Moon, T: Ind
As Maintaining the Demanding Spell (ArM5, p. 162) but Moon duration. It will thus affect spells equal or lower than two magnitudes less than the level of this spell.
