Character Generation
- Each player may create one magus, one companion, and as many grogs as they feel they can manage. Mythic Companions replace magi; as they will have the status equivalent to other companions, subservient to the Hermetic magi, it is recommended you avoid them.
- Pay particular attention to why the character is at the covenant.
- Canonical simple character generation rules are used.
- No starting character may have Might.
- Magi should be created at gauntlet using only the core book, Apprentices, Grogs, their section of their Houses of Hermes book, and up to one theme (so it may be more than one thing, but it must be clearly focused) from another book. (E.g. If you want to make an ex Miscellanea magus trained as an Elementalist (which might work well with the library), you could use anything from the Elementalist section of HMRE.)
- Custom spells are encouraged.
- Companions and grogs should be created using only the core book, Apprentices, Grogs, and up to one theme from another book. Non-Gifted hedge magi and the equivalent from other realms (e.g. Faerie Wizard) are not allowed.
- You may start with reasonable items for your station, regardless of it being printed in a book or not, but nothing of any sort of exceptional quality.
- Note that four languages are spoken at the covenant with regularity: Arabic (Andalusi), Latin (Hermetic), Mozarabic (Mozarabic), and North Iberian (Castilian-Ladino). Meanwhile, the library has books in Arabic, Latin, and other languages.
