ASTROGRAPHY:
Isolated between the perseus and orion arms, Sanctuary is the final landing place of the Megaroad-2 and the few surviving ships of its convoy ; the planet is suspiciously earth-like, with a great deal of liquid water.
It has been proved that Protoculture once inhabited the planet, as structures have been found during oceanic surveys of the planet.
HISTORY:
Arriving in 2025 after its desastrous journey, the second long-range exploration fleet discovered by accident a lone star-system in the relatively barren space between the two galactic arms.
This discovery saved the fleet from self-destruction, as its society had degraded into a very injust and prejudiced system exploiting clones.
On the request of then Admiral Rask Harkov, the UN Spacy took control of the colonization efforts, and restored civil order ; one year in the process, Harkov resigned his commission and left Sanctuary.
The colony benefited from the ideal environment, with little to no terraforming to be done, the settlers moved into building their ideal world.
Immense oceans, fertile lands and ample military support made for a rich planet with several key UN Spacy facilities such as Keywest Naval Aerospace Station and Grandlake Shipyards.
