HISAO HORIYAMA AIRFIELD

---

Once the landing and staging area for Kimon Fields first settlers, the airfield was nothing more than a concrete runway and a couple hangars... Not that it changed much since then.

In-between, the airfield has been home to rebel youth who used the runway for dragster races, and still does to this day during the base's commander monthly open-night.

When the government decided to invest in the terraforming project, the military reluctantly agreed to support the endeavour... For none of the local settlers resistance had been forgotten, nor was it forgiven.

As a result, the local defense initiative was but a paper reserve unit, with a handfull old airframes and some straight to surplus military gear (don't even get the garrison started on the blankets). The Air Guard HQ sends little to no supply, if the bare essentials as ammunition or fuel cells, that and an unending stream of inane administrative resquests.

But the people of Kimon Fields who volunteered for the job, did it with their usual resolve... The Hisao Horiyama airfield is now the proud owner of a small vegetables garden, a hen house, rabbits and a bees hive... As for the more serious stuff, well the underground bunker is stacked with explosive ordnance, the perimeter enclosed by a high-voltage fence and peppered with anti-tank mines.

Although the buildings are run-down, they are clean as a whistle, and the personnel of the 3rd Air Guard Regiment make it a matter of pride to excell at their job, despite the relaxed discipline or lack of ressources that make their day-to-day.
