THIRD AIR GUARD REGIMENT

Like many reserve units, the 3rd Air Guard was nothing but a placeholder on the PSDF organizational chart, yet against all odds, it was finally activated in 2041.
The regiment consists in different components:
- Multirole Variable Fighter Squadron
- Destroïd Platoon
- Infantry Company
- Support Crew
Once again, that is the paper version...
As it stands, the regiment can muster six souped-up VF-1 Valkyries, one MBR-IV Tomahawk, two Armored Personel Carriers and a truck... In case of heavy fighting, rifles will be broken out of the armory ; otherwise, everyone is expected to participate in maintenance operations. This is the sad state of affairs for the 3rd Air Guard.
The unit, undermanned, poorly equiped, and with little combat experience is looked-down upon by the rest of the Proxima Self Defense Force ; they are nicknamed "the Weekend Warriors" or "the Crop Dusters", and neither Air Guard HQ nor other Regiments pull any punches to hinder their operations.
Yet, the 3rd Air Guard maintains a relatively high morale, even with a deplorable combat-readiness.
