Giants were created in the 4th age by the Titans. After being defeated in the Prime War, Wyregnon took time to examine their defeat. Conceding that their loss had more to do with the gods servitor races than the gods themselves, he decided to use his power to create his own servants. Initially just smaller versions of the Titans themselves, giants have grown far more varied since their creation, either through the results of the Titans’ machinations or the Maelstrom’s chaotic nature affecting them.

Since the creation of Hell and Tolomar, the Titans have become much more distant, allowing the giant kings and queens much greater freedom in how they rule their peoples, and treating individual giants as subjects or petitioners instead of servants. So long as the giant kingdoms do not overtly threaten the current balance of power between Primordial and Immortal, the Titans seem happy to allow them to do as they wish.
