Social Combat

The system for social combat in The Succubus Club: Dead Man's Party is a great one, and I've adapted it for use here. The process is relatively simple:

1. Posturing: Roll Charisma + Etiquette (difficulty 6, 4 if you're the host). Three successes gives the character a point of Favour. A botch grants a point of Disfavour.
2. Initiative: Add your successes on the Posturing roll to your dots in Status (if relevant, or Resources/Fame/Clan Prestige, if those are more appropriate) to calculate your 'social initiative'. Note: This differs from the system in Dead Man's Party, because I feel Status is more appropriate than Wits + Alertness for social initiative.
2. Actions: Favour, Disfavour, Compel, Observe, Withdraw (resisted roll if being contested or undermined).

Success: Most rolls are resisted, but three successes is always considered a complete success, regardless of the opponent's successes.
Failure: Your action flops but you don't suffer any negative consequences.
Botch: Botching a social roll gets you a point of Disfavour and ends your turn.
Stacking points: Favour and Disfavour cancel each other out. You may only have up to three points of either Favour or Disfavour.

Favour: Boosting the reputation of a target. Every three successes adds one point of Favour. Each point grants a -1 difficulty modifier to social rolls (maximum of -3).
Disfavour: Every three successes adds one point of Disfavour. Each point grants a +1 difficulty modifier to social rolls (maximum of +3).
Compel: Three successes compels your target to do as you ask, or take a point of Disfavour. (This cannot be used to make a person harm themselves or break etiquette.)
Observe: You do nothing. This may help you assess the situation, however, and come up with a plan of action for the next turn.
Withdraw: Roll Wits + Etiquette (difficulty 6). Even one success is enough to leave. Failure means you are either held up because of obligations or conversation, or you can still leave but must take a point of Disfavour. Botching gives you a point of Disfavour.
