The Eleanor Moreas is a 40 meter long ship with atomic engines that need frequent overhauls. But its size and construction give it a rare ability to easily land and leave a planet, helpful for exploratory missions. As an exploration ship, it does not have all the bells and whistles, but it has a survey airship, which was destroyed by Terry's mutiny.
The bridge is designed for operation in both vertical (star drive) and horizontal (atmospheric) flight. All crew members and passengers must be on the bridge while the ship maneuvers in an atmosphere.
The survey airship (one of which is now destroyed) is a small ship used for scouting around a planet with only a 100 kph speed but a large 20 person capacity interior and 1000 kg in 100 cubic meters of storage capacity, great for samples and taking in scientists, and they can go a whopping 20,000 km without refueling. It is also nearly silent and camouflaged to avoid disrupting native inhabitants. (The Moraes had two such airships.)
The Moraes has two aircars. After the encounter with Terry to recapture the ship, one was badly damaged and one remains intact.
The Moraes has one explorer.
