THESE ARE THE HOUSE RULES THAT MODIFY THE NORMAL RULES:

Zebulon's Guide: Rules from Zebulon's Guide are added upon approval but typically are limited to new races, skills, and equipment. We do not use professions.

NEW: One rule from Zebulon's Guide we can use is the special skill purchase. Each special skill under your PSA that is in Zebulon's guide can be purchased as a skill (or non-PSA as a skill) for the following XP cost:

Currently, skills are limited to Level 6 per Alpha Dawn Rules. We can discuss going up to Level 8 (per Zebulon), if necessary.

INITIATIVE: Initiative is determined by the referee based on the situation. Sometimes RS scores are used; sometimes not. Sometimes initiative is based on party; sometimes it is not. Do not feel like you need to roll for initiative, but if you think a situation or skill applies, let me know. Typically, I use reaction speed average and roll one number for the party and one for the adversary to determine initiative.

Critical Hit/Miss: A roll of 01-03 is a critical hit and a roll of 98-00 is a critical miss. In some situations these ranges may be increased.

Skills Increase: Increasing skills and abilities can be done in game as soon as XP is awarded. No need for training.

MEDICAL: A hospital is not needed for freeze fields. Broken bones and other injuries fall under minor surgery subskill. Biocort can be used up to 3 times per day, but it will not heal injuries requiring minor or major surgery.

Stimdose and Staydose: Stimdose may only be used once per day, and adds 10 STA to someone who has been rendered unconscious, as well as bringing them back to consciousness. It can be used up until they are -10 STA. Staydose brings them back in suspended animation, can be used as many times per day as necessary, and can be used until they are -30 STA. Stimdose does not require a med skill, but staydose does.

Surgery:The time for surgery is 1 hour time per 20 Stamina healed (rounded up). This applies to both minor and major surgery.

Screens (e.g., Albedo Screens)
A screen uses SEU equal to 1/5 the number of damage points caused by the laser, rounded up, and the user takes no damage. For example, a laser attack equaling 11 points of damage uses three SEU and the user takes no damage.

Given the difficulty of determining the usage per minute, we will not use the rule that screens use 1 SEU per minute. It only uses SEU when actually hit by lasers.

For suits, the general rule that a suit absorbs half damage remains.
