The Chaos Wars:

Approximately 2050 Galactic years ago the galaxy was thrust in a terrible era of strife. Conflicts between the Solar Sentient's were growing more and more numerous thought caused by a myriad of events  territorial, political, material, or racial in nature. The Humans were often seen as the base for these conflicts for they have spent many a millennia traveling the cosmos taking artifacts, resources, and systems without care. As the conflicts frequency grew, so did their severity. Entire fleets were lost in battles over empty space as more and more Solar Sentient's were drawn into the galactic vortex that was the Chaos war.

The two most powerful factions, Humans and Xu'urak, formed a coalition known as United Intergalactic Confederacy to protect all of which they have gained. While their adversaries lacked the same weaponry, tactics, and organization UIC possesed, they compensated with numbers. It wasn't until approximately 10 Galactic years before the end of the war that the remaining factions joined each other to destroy the UIC. This secondary faction known as the Galactic Alliance consisted of the Morlal, Macgroar, Cathon, and Yiles. These factions were in return supplied and aided by the Xion, Queyar, and Moolar.

Proud were the warriors of UIC but it was a battle they were losing. Xu'urak was given an option by Macgroar and the Cathon, to allow a fleet through their controlled system so that an attack could be made on Earth. It was agreed that if the Humans would surrender and forgo their annexed systems and artifacts than their peoples and planet would be spared. The Xu'urak agreed to this offer with an additional condition of intergalactic peace once the war has ended. Morlal were not told of this proposition and upon learning it saw it as a direct dishonour. They could not rationalize the thought of working with their current enemies to find peace, especially on the cusp of victory.

Xu'urak betrayed the Humans by convincing them to move their fleets to the front lines of the war while the Xu'urak would split their fleet half to protect their Ley Nodes and the other half to perform a direct attack upon the Morlal homeworld. Quickly GA fleets slipped through the Ley Lines into the Sol System and encroached on Earth. They possessed the element of surprise but even so they did not expect how open the system was, the Humans truly trust the Xu'urak. Operation Earthfall would have been a success if Thomar ships had not been detected slipping through the Nodes. Massive 30km long capital ships warped into the system with a direct course towards Earth. Thomar are typically a peaceful people and the capital ships were only ever seen to be used for colonization. GA hailed the ships to find that the Morlal had hijacked them and fitted them weaponry taken from the Macgroar. The weapons were sliptime XT-32 Annihilation bombs, which at the time were experimental and untested. The first ship penetrated the crust by impacting a deep mineral mine in central Europe, the resulting blast tore a hole into the mantle  380 km deep. The next two ships followed course ripping a pillar in the malleable magma 1000 kms deep. With the final ship penetrating deep to the core. Surrounding material tried to reform but the final the damage to the core was too great, the final detonation destabilized the orbit and liquefied the inner core causing the remaining planet to scatter among the stars.

The GA could do nothing more than watch in horror as 1.4 trillion Humans were torn asunder on their mother planet. A surrendering treaty was immediately drawn and signed by the remaining Human fleets and colonies. The GA was promptly disbanded and the creation of the Republic of Xu'urak took its place. Most of the members of the GA would not join another Galactic Allaiance however the Xion, Queyar, and Moolar did end up joining the Republic. Galactic Laws were drafted less than a decade later to ensure nothing like it would happen again.
