Dwarf
"We sons of Grungni may have drunk deep from the bitter waters of misfortune, but we yet survive. Whilst a single Dwarf draws breath, we will fight the evils that assail us, and we will never, ever give up."
— Hengist Stonebelly
Dwarves are a race in Arkos also known as the Khazad, the Naugrim , and the Gonnhirrim but the themselves call each other Dawi.

They are one of the oldest and proudest races in the World of Arkos, with a great wealth of history and power. They once held an empire which stretched from the icebound peaks in the Dragonspines in the north to the feverthorn jungles in the south near the ring of fire, from Mount Silverspear in the east to the Morami Mountains in the far west. But the once heart of the Dwarfen realm, the Karaz Ankor lies beneath a great ocean of blood off of the sword coast. And has since the breaking of the world.

Refusing to be broken as the map itself seems to have been the Dwarven empire has instead reshaped itself linking with greater interest in the human world.  Sturdy and strong, Dwarves are brilliant craftsmen and excellent warriors, but above all they prize themselves on their loyalty to each other and to those they are indebted to. This strong bond of kinship has ensured that the Dwarfs are considered amongst the most united races in the face of the world. They are known far and wide as the greatest miners and smiths. Capable of producing works far more beautiful than the Elven metalworkers in far Ulthuan and hundreds of times more valuable than the trinkets of Men. Proud, honorable and enduring, it is said that the Dwarfs shall weather the horrors and misery of this world until its final bitter end.

Elves

"We are the chosen of Galagen, beloved of the gods and heirs to the world. Our armies are the finest in creation; swift where our foes are lumbering, cultured where they are barbaric. Give no thought to failure, nor defeat – we are the Children of Ulthuan and we shall prevail."
—Phoenix King Aenarion "the Defender"

The Northstar is one of the most common symbols of the Elves of Ulthuan

The Elves, or the Galagen as they call themselves, are one of the most ancient and powerful mortal civilizations within the World of Arkos. The Elves of Ulthuan are a proud and mighty nation of masterful warriors, peerless mages and lords of the sky and sea. An ancient race in whose history has raised powerful armies and even grander magic, a mighty civilization who, alongside the Dwarfs, fought a nearly apocalyptic war which saw some of the greatest and most powerful mortal heroes sacrifice themselves against a great darkness that tried to consume the world. At the zenith of their power, the world was truly theirs for the taking.

But that was 'once upon a time' and the time of the Elves has passed, or so it is said. Thier race is dwindling each year fewer Elves are born and as many or more die from an invisible enemy few outlanders understand. A bleak shadow the Elves of Uthman won't speak of with any. Yet, such is their pride, many still fight on - nonetheless. They consider themselves the protectors of the ancient world, and believe that so long as even one elf persists, the dying world will never fall into complete darkness. If oblivion is indeed to be their fate, they have chosen to face it with arrow nocked and sword held high, defending the world they have loved and protected for so long. So do the white-garbed hosts of Ulthuan march, banners streaming in the wind and every warrior reconciled to death in service of a greater cause; the protection of this very world. Let the servants of destruction beware their righteous wrath.
