'Legacy' Races.  Describe non-human cultures that were once FAR more populous than they are today. The cultures that remain are SHADOWS of the cultures that they once were ... and in some cases maybe never were. In every case, there is the polite nearly convincing lie.  And the often untold truth.

iKKosi - One of two a half-breeds – half-elves have since created a society cultivated from the best parts of their progenitors. This thinly spread 'culture' – the Ikkos – has only a little racial cohesion. Ikkosi are often cast in servile social roles being attractive or charismatic characters. Though independent they are valued for their empathy, their ability to connect even though they are never considered part of the whole, except for individual worth.  This perceived lack of innate social worth weighs heavily on many Ikkosi; yet others are bolstered by their unique status, seeing this as the ultimate freedom. Ikkosi are incredibly adaptable, capable of taking advantage of whatever opportunities their individual talents may find themselves in.

Caught between cultures even when they are encouraged into taking on diplomatic responsibilities between human and other races. Some Ikkosi rise to the occasion of such service, seeing it as a chance to prove their worth. Others, resent the pressures and presumptions foisted upon them and turn any opportunity to broker power, make peace, or advance trade into an exercise in personal profit.
Physical Description: An Ikkosi can stand taller than most humans but will be shorter typically than an elf. They have inherited the lean build and comely features of their elven lineage, but their skin color has the diversity of their distant human kin. While Ikkosi retains the pointed ears of elves, theirs are more rounded and less pronounced. Their eyes tend to be human-like in shape, but feature an exotic range of colors from amber or violet to emerald green and deep blue.
